What About Us: Who We Are and Why We Home School
What About Us: Who We Are
My husband and I have been Christian missionaries for 27 years, married for almost 26 years and have been home schooling our seven children for the past 23 years. We started with our oldest son, David (25), who is now studying Chinese at a University in Taiwan.
We have tried many different books, methods, and schools on 3 continents (NA, SA and Asia) and in 7 different countries (Canada, USA, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, and Taiwan). However, we are continually on the lookout for other and perhaps better ways to educate our children (our youngest is 10 years old).
What about us and our beliefs? It is our belief that children are a gift of God, given to their parents to love, care for, and rear in a Godly manner and that the primary responsibility for the welfare of children rests with their parents.

What About Us: Why We Home School
What about us and how our Christian beliefs affect our decision to home school? We consider that our children are a precious gift from God and we devote much time, effort and resources to providing them with the best care and attention possible. It is our belief that it is our God-given parental right and moral obligation as Christians to give our children a Godly education, bringing them up in the "...nurture and admonition of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4) God and His Word take center place in our childrenÁ?s education.
Our home, along with an estimated half a million other homeschoolers in the USA, not to mention worldwide, have opted to homeschool our children. In our home school we provide our children with Christian and ministerial training, scholastics and practical vocational training.
What about us and our lifestyle? In our lifestyle we provide our children with many unique learning opportunities not available to children dependent on institutions for their education. The children follow an orderly, progressive and well-planned curriculum, which is continually being updated and expanded on with new books, videos, audio tapes, computer programs, etc.
Here we are with all seven children, continuing to home school the youngest four.
